Jul 28, 2026

Pack your pencil case because this month, the Rowan Berry Box is taking a little creative trip to Japan…

Our latest theme is Japanese, a colourful celebration inspired by the art, imagery and stationery culture of Japan.

Inside, you'll find a playful mix of traditional and modern influences, with designs inspired by iconic Japanese imagery alongside beautiful patterns and vintage-style artwork. Think koi fish, Mount Fuji, sushi, lotus flowers, fans and lucky symbols, all brought together in a carefully coordinated collection designed to inspire your next journal or scrapbook spread.

And, of course, we couldn't create a Japanese-themed stationery box without including some actual Japanese stationery too!

From special edition Pentel EnerGel pens to wonderfully quirky Iwako erasers, this box brings together exclusive designs and stationery treasures from some of our favourite Japanese brands.

Ready to take a peek inside?

This box includes:

  • Modern collage papers
  • Vintage posters
  • Pentel Energel Pens
  • Iwako novelty erasers
  • Sticker sheet

Modern Collage Papers & Ephemera

Let's start with plenty of paper to cut, tear, layer and play with.

This month's box includes a collection of modern collage papers featuring eight different pattern designs, alongside a coordinating ephemera sheet filled with elements ready to become part of your creative projects.

Printed for us in Northumberland on recycled uncoated paper, these designs are perfect for creating backgrounds, layering into scrapbook spreads or cutting into smaller pieces for your journal.

Use them to create a complete Japanese-inspired scene, combine contrasting patterns or simply tear off a little corner to add colour and texture to a page.

Scissors and glue sticks at the ready!

Eight Vintage Japanese-Inspired Posters

From modern patterns, to travelling back in time.

You'll also discover a collection of eight vintage poster designs, beautifully printed on 160gsm Acquerello paper.

We chose this paper for its gorgeous tactile texture, which gives each design a wonderfully special finish and complements the vintage-inspired artwork beautifully.

Frame your favourites as miniature prints, tuck them into journals, use them as backgrounds for collage or add them to your scrapbook pages.

Special Edition Pentel EnerGel Pens

A Japanese Rowan Berry Box wouldn't be complete without some excellent Japanese pens and we've chosen one of our favourites. Inside your box, you'll find two special edition Pentel EnerGel gel rollerball pens.

Loved by stationery fans around the world, Pentel EnerGel pens are known for their wonderfully smooth writing experience and quick-drying gel ink.

They're the perfect everyday companions for journaling, planning, list-making and note-taking — and the special edition designs make them an extra-fun addition to your pencil case.

Iwako Novelty Erasers

Tiny? Yes. Adorable? Absolutely.

Straight from Japan, this month's box includes Iwako novelty erasers featuring lucky symbols. Pop them on your desk as tiny good-luck charms or tuck them into your pencil case ready to erase any little mistakes that happen along the way.

Japanese novelty erasers have long been loved by stationery collectors for their intricate designs and playful details, and we couldn't resist adding some to this month's theme.

Japanese Washi Paper Stickers

Is it really a Rowan Berry Box without stickers? This month's exclusive sticker sheet has been printed especially for the box on Japanese washi paper. The delicate paper finish makes washi stickers particularly lovely for journaling and collage, as they blend beautifully into the page and work wonderfully when layered with other papers.

Use them alongside the modern collage patterns, decorate your planner or add them to your favourite notebook. A few carefully placed stickers can transform an entire page.

15mm Washi Tape

And finally, we have another Japanese stationery essential: washi tape.

This month's coordinating roll is 15mm wide, making it incredibly versatile for all kinds of creative projects.

Use it to create borders around your journal pages, attach photos and ephemera, decorate happy mail or simply tear off little pieces to add another layer of pattern to your collages.

Pair it with the washi stickers and papers from the box, and you've got everything you need to start creating.

Ideas for Using Your Japanese Rowan Berry Box
